So I see either one or both listed as installed options from the Skeeter factory for a MX series boat.

    Couple of questions:
    1) Are they glassed in transducers?
    2) What exactly are these transducers used for if you choose to go with a HD system for either Humminbird or Lowrance that use there own specialized tranducers?

They are “extra” glassed in at the time of the build for 2D sonar only. its just a ton easier installation to do it at the time of the hull build. Everything that you need for youre combo unit will come with that purchase..

I put both the Lowrance and Humminbird glassed into my Skeeter.. Dont use either one of them..

They are glassed in 2d transducers that are brand specific(not a generic transducer) The “HD” transducer is the specialty transducer(side imaging, down imaging) which you would run in conjunction with the 2d. Humminbird HD units “feature a super bright LED backlite display” it has little to do with the 2d sonar. If you are planning on fishing in water over 150 feet i would put a high speed 2d transducer on the out side of the boat. It will give you better reading at greater depths. If you are under 150 the thru hull will work just fine.
