Can we compile a full list of changes no matter how insignificant between the 2013 & 2014 MX1825 models? I know alot of folks like myself are in the market for a MX and would like to know exactly what a 2014 gets us over a 2013 besides a price increase…

Can the trailer toolbox be added to previous model year trailers?
Are these the same changes made to the MX2025? or did it get more?
August 14, 2013 at 1:46 am #1189429How long have they been waiting to bring this boat out theres flowers and weeds growing all over it!!!!!!!!
August 14, 2013 at 12:55 pm #1189452I’m really dissapointed in the changes (or lack there of) not sure how they can justify the price increase this year…I know it’s already a great boat, but you can’t tell me they haven’t been getting feedback on ways to make it even better…
August 14, 2013 at 1:10 pm #1189456you guys are gonna love that Fulton F2 tongue jack. Pricey, but a good working unit.

If you devide the number of new features by the price increase, it’s the most expensive jackstand ever!
August 14, 2013 at 6:11 pm #1189538By all means tell us what you want to see! We have just completed our 2nd model year and the boat design itself was very customer driven.
For now you have the option of the 2013 or 2014 content.August 14, 2013 at 7:41 pm #1189560Quote:

Off the top of my head, some of these ideas are pretty much standard today (or will be soon) in most boats:* Built in Nav lights (like Ranger Z520 Carbon)
* A usable Bow console area (What’s the point of the current size plastic insert plate? it’s oversized for the plug-in and trim switch and not big enough for a flush mount option)
* Integrated measuring board
* Integrated tool storage/quick access location
* Some sort of daybox storage location for commonly used tools/lures
* Simple air flow fan system in storage compartments (new to FX series this year)
* Starter battery switch incase main goes dead, allows you to start from the trolling batteries (i beleive new this year to FX series?)
* Integrated Net storage locationrblosserPosts: 16August 14, 2013 at 9:46 pm #1189599Quote:

Those are all very good suggestions, I can guarantee Dean will pass them along to the engineers. The integrated measuring board my not be that easy unless your using a 18″ or less ruler, but still something is better than nothing. To me the tool storage system and battery switch is a no brainer and should be there.

And the current tongue jack was not the right tool for the job.
My additions would be a better radio option and more space on the dash for electronics. The current one is very limited.

I was able to mount a 30″ butt board to the underside of the rear livewell lid. Flip the lid, measure, drop it in the livewell!
August 16, 2013 at 12:53 pm #1189910good idea, I have one from my old bassboat that I’ll either mount on the rod box lid or the Port storage lid..I want a door that has the support board going across I can mount it to…

They could easily install a 50″ measuring board under the front rod box if they wanted to…I’ve been a lifelong Skeeter owner, but I’m starting to like how Ranger goes the extra mile and doesn’t cut as many corners as Skeeter seems to be doing more of lately…I’m most likely going to do some custom fabrication to the bow console area for a flush mount graph and integrated tool storage system. I need a good winter project

If I’m reading this correctly, poly fenders will be standard item with the single axle trailer? From what I know about the MX options, poly fenders were only available before as an option on the double axle trailer?

No this means that trailers that have poly fenders (dual axle) will have fender trim..

OK…that makes sense. Thanks!

Trust me when I say that you don’t want the tool box. Been there and done it. I’m about ready to cut it off. Mine is on an Eagle trailer.
In my case the tool box is located on the main frame near the tongue in the area of the winch. What happens is that it fills with water when backing in the trailer. Though I’ll admit it is nice that they had the foresight to put drain holes in the bottom of the tool box to drain the water.

Stencil it “AIS containment box”, be sure to tell the inspectors it’s DNR approved……….I’ll bet you could get away with it.
August 23, 2013 at 9:21 pm #1191225Can it not be made water tight? Pretty useless to have a tool box that does not keep your tools dry.
Zach HPosts: 374August 24, 2013 at 11:55 am #1191260What’s the reason for the tool box? I don’t have any idea why you would need something like that mounted to your trailer. Any tools that I need are in the cab of my truck. If the trailer is with me my truck will be too. Anyone have any good ideas what they would put in this box?

I have yet to find a use. I may have tossed a bottle of SeaFoam in once or twice.
Over time the rivets used for mounting the hinges and latches have loosened. My wife’s boyfriend knows when I am home from fishing from over a block away as it the lid rattles against the box when towing down the street thus giving him a head start out the back door.
I have yet to find a need for the tool box. Though it does look cool.
August 24, 2013 at 4:40 pm #1191298I agree with the concept, but not the execution. A couple of years ago, I had a tire failure on my boat trailer, and quickly realized how un-prepared I was, expecting my vehicle jack to do the job, etc.
Now I carry a trailer-specific bag (left here between trips) that includes a jack that does the job, lug nut socket and breaker bar, spare hitch pins, flat-4 connectors, etc. It gets tossed in the back of whichever tow vehicle is being used.
A trailer mounted tool box is just 1 more thing for some low-life to try and steal while the trailer is in a parking lot.

August 24, 2013 at 10:03 pm #1191325Well i am pretty sure if it is welded in place i could make it water tight and move all my emergency trailer stuff out of my truck and into the box.
August 24, 2013 at 11:54 pm #1191338And I bet that in short order in a lot of places all your tools will be gone, with such an easy target in a deserted parking lot.
StanAugust 25, 2013 at 1:41 am #1191344Boy I don’t know where you guys fish at that you get ripped off so often, but around here you get caught messing with a mans gear you better be wearing a bullet proof vest.
August 25, 2013 at 2:41 pm #1191377I think I saw you are down in Kentucky-Tennesse country,it’s a little more liberal up here and some ethnic groups that feel more entitled. not so red neck where most people have a gun in their boat to kill “Snakes”.Also A 20 Boat ramp is a huge ramp in this country most are less than 10 rigs. Its a totaly diffrent mind set of the income generated thru fishing.
StanAugust 29, 2013 at 2:33 am #1191965Nice changes! I finally had the chance to drive/fish out of one for a day in a good chop and I was very impressed with the boat.
Now my own question is why every year I design a new boat there is a demo boat made almost the exact same…
