I love Skeeter tillers! I am thinking of getting a new one, upgrading from my 2009 20 ft. I had a dealer tell me that he has had nothing but headaches on the newer 2000T coming in with cracks that he has had to fix. Has anyone heard this elsewhere? Maybe someone from the Skeeter Boat center could shed some light on this, fact or fiction? Thanks
Actually, for us, the newer 2000T have had far fewer cosmetic spider cracks than previous earlier model years. Cosmetic or spider cracks, wether with Skeeter, or any other glass boat manufacturer, typically are not structual integrity issues but simply the boat flexing which they all do to some point. The gel process has been improved, not perfect, but our claims are down significantly from 2 yrs ago.I know we have helped several glass boat owners that purchased there boat elsewhere deal with cosmetic repair and really didnt consider helping them a headache, just helping out if we can. In my time here at SBC, I have yet to see a “structural” issue on either a Skeeter or other glass brand. We just recieved a 2013 WX2000T on order and have orders for 2014 in process….. so I am not sure if this dealer or anyone else actually has newer 2000T’s than that in inventory?
