Has anyone gone from a WX1850 to a MX1825 and if so would you do it again? Wondering about the ride and launching difference on a shallow water ramp.

Me to. Is it fair to compare (going from) a WX1850 to MX2025?

You wouldn’t buy another WX1850?

I absolutely LOVED my WX1850. But I really really want to go 50 MPH plus. And I figure a 20′ boat would handle the 3′ chop even better than the excellent job the WX1850 did handling the 3′ chop.
However who knows what will happen when check writing day comes. There may still be a WX1850 on the other end of that check.
June 22, 2013 at 12:27 pm #1179388Wade, if memory serves me right, you’ve gone from a Raptor, WX1850, and now a Pro Guide in the last few years? What about the WX made you want to switch it up? You seemed happy with it.
June 22, 2013 at 10:32 pm #1179517I thought that the Pro Guide was his father’s. I think he is still shopping.

The day the new baby arrived so did my lay-off notice. The Skeeter was sold for money reasons. The Pro Guide is dad’s boat that he never uses and told me to have at it. The day I have fully cleaned up all the “ripples” from the lay-off, I will be ordering myself a new Skeeter.
June 24, 2013 at 1:23 am #1179667I wish ya luck Wade. Tiller or wheel for the next Skeeter? I’m dying to test drive the mx1825.

Not sure. Every time I lean toward tiller two things jump up. 1. I want a 50mph+ boat. 2. In the tiller even on warm summer days I think how I want at least goggles if not face shield driving the tiller around. I like hiding behind glass.

Maybe you need to initiate a campaign to get the WX1850 re-rated to 200, now that the new F200XA-B is avaialble. Kind of like how they dual-rated the MX1825, waiting on the lighter outboard.

July 2, 2013 at 8:16 pm #1181417Well, it doesn’t look like anyone has made the switch so what can anyone tell me about the difference in ride? I guess I am concerned about the counsels being so far forward on the MX1825? I am sure the bow is big enough for my casting needs, but we get some big winds out here in South Dakota so looking at the ride also.
