Looking to add a couple rod holders to my new wx 1900. What would people recommend for rod holders that hold secure on rails. Does anyone know the size of the rails Skeeter puts on its boats, 1 inch or 7/8 inch. Thanks.

Ram makes a mount and holder for round rails.

I would check out Folbes, they look pretty sweet, but a bit spendy. I currently have Scottys, no complaints after 3 years of use (can get cheap at Cabelas if they have sales going). Bought a few cannons, they got replaced after a few weeks after shredding a trolling rod handle while removing the rod. I hear Rams are good, but too much flex for my liking when trolling big cranks and boards. They all can bolt to transom or purchase a plate for rail mount.

i’ve tried pretty much every kind for trolling muskie lures: Scotty (and store-brand versions), Down-east, Ram plastic, Ram metal, and Folbe.

i’ve settled on the Folbe. yes, they’re more expensive, but i’ve been happy with the value they represent and it was a good investment. i’m running 4 rail-mounts, and 2 side-mounts. they are rock-solid with very little flex, are easy to adjust, you can get optional height extensions, they lock into place, and open very easily due to the design that puts rod pressure on the non-moving part.

if i was long-lining lures with less resistance, the metal Ram mounts would probably be my next choice, but planer boards in particular i like better on the Folbe.
