So far the only negative I can find on the MX1825 is that it sits so high on the trailer (above the fenders) that it’s tough to launch in shallow water? Can any owners provide feedback on this?

Haven’t, not been able to launch. Maybe have to back in a little farther than others. Of course, I’d float the Jeep in order to get on the water.
April 16, 2013 at 4:01 pm #1163043I’m not an owner, but launched one a few times. One of them was barely more than a sandy beach, but we backed the truck in a ways and it was no problem. Loading was easy too.
April 16, 2013 at 5:27 pm #1163077I own an MX1825. I have only had to launch and load alone once. It worked out well because it was an excellent ramp. I would say on a shallow ramp it is a little tougher. I wished it sat 4 inches lower like the MX2025 does but that is a whole lot more money to get there.
April 16, 2013 at 5:35 pm #1163081I thought I heard somewhere that the boat will float in 3′ of water. I’ll bring a tape next time and check for sure.
April 16, 2013 at 6:04 pm #1163093One thing you will have to remember is if you have to back in deep with truck and trailer you have to watch that your trailer wheels don’t fall off a ledge if it is a cement ramp. Down here in Illinois[Mississippi river] we have old ramps with cement and it get wash out on the end. We have to be careful when water is low. Good luck!!!
April 16, 2013 at 6:12 pm #1163094I’ve never not been able to launch my boat in shallow water, just have to back in until the top of the fender is under by an inch and she floats/slides right off. I launch/load the boat by myself 90% of the time. This boat/trailer sits almost identical as my Pro V did. No major change in launching for me.
On real steep launches I have had the trolling motor bump the front roller, picked up one of those slide plates from SBC to take care of that issue. Just have to install it.
April 16, 2013 at 8:43 pm #1163144I’m still adjusting from a boat that launched shallower. Its real close to being able to sit between the fenders. There must be a reason why they didn’t do it. SBC gave me some tips to try that will certainly help. You do want to make sure its all the way on before pulling out as it doesn’t slide well once out of the water. I found some solid plastic 5″ slides by Surflix for a reasonable price. I’ll post when I get them installed and tried them to let you know if it makes it easier at shallow launches.

I hope it’ll float in a lot less than that! If not, then I can understand the reason for the OP’s thread.
April 18, 2013 at 11:18 am #1163612Im guessing he is talking about being able to float the boat off in 3 feet of water. The boat itself will float in 16″ or a little less.
April 19, 2013 at 12:57 am #1163807I guess I forgot the sarcasm smiley.
Regardless, 3 ft is an awful lot and would render the boat useless in most of the lakes I fish, and I’m sure lakes that others fish also.
April 25, 2013 at 12:46 am #1165689I put the slides on today,…the difference was amazing. The boat slid up with minimal power to the winch stand. I also flipped my hitch tonight so the front of the trailer is higher. Tomorrow, I’ll find out if it launches easier. I bet it will. In case you are interested,…I got the 5″ wide glides from Surflix(a search finds it easily). I got enough to fully cover all the bunks. Installation with 2 cordless drills was about 10 minutes. ps the boat handled the wind really well today while on the trolling motor. That keel is the real deal.
April 26, 2013 at 9:12 am #1165989Launched it yesterday for the 1st time with the new glides, dramatic improvement. Back in until the fendors are just out of the water and back right off. When I reloaded, I powerd it up to the post and hooked it up but didn’t bother to tighten up the strap. It slid back when pulled out,…it cranked back up with no problems out of the water.
A cheap mod with big benefits.April 26, 2013 at 4:52 pm #1166110Interesting news on the slides. I’ve always heard they weren’t good for heavy, fiberglass boats as they might damage the hull over time.
April 26, 2013 at 5:26 pm #1166115I just spent the better part of the last hour (don’t tell my boss) looking into slicks. Every post about using Armor All on carpeted bunks was a positive one. I’m going to buy a bottle of Armor All and give it a try before spending money on trailer slicks. I will let everyone know how it goes.
April 27, 2013 at 1:53 am #1134086Go to Amazon.com and search for liquid rollers spray for your bunks. I’ve never tried it but it gets good reviews.
