Are there any other brands?
February 11, 2013 at 2:16 am #1140238DO you have any interest in the I-Pilot Link? With your Bird to link to it.
February 11, 2013 at 12:04 pm #1140289I had the option to go with the I-Link but opted out. The way I fish it would have gone unused

I don’t know what you do for a living but, have you ever bought a tool for what you thought might be a one time use? You ourchased a fairly good quality brand and it was a bit pricy at the time but really made the task go a lot easer and quicker? As time pass, you have found that specialized one time use tool has become as handy as a pocket on a shirt. You wonder why you hadn’t bought it a long time before. Might be the Link system.
February 11, 2013 at 12:31 pm #1140298I’m not going to disagree with you however I believe that the fish hang all over a break anywhere’s from 6′ to 24′ (depending on the break you are fishing) so I like to work the entire break not just 1 depth. On a structureless lake yeah maybe the I-Link would be the most useful tool in the box but in my particular situation and how I fish not so much. Now don’t get me wrong someday if I fish with someone that has the I-Link and I get out of their boat saying “geez I don’t know how I fished the last 30 years without one of those” I will probably buy one.

Nine times out of ten I would debate with a guy regarding the usefulness of new technology. However knowing how acomplished a fisherman you are Jesse I think I will not engage on this one. I would say your results speak for themselves.
February 12, 2013 at 12:17 pm #1140770Congratulations on the new ride Jesse!!! That is one nice looking boat— I am betting it will show some signs of use soon enough I am going to have to beg a ride one of these days and have you take me fishing in style!

Beautiful rig, congrats! I have an older 1790, and I’m curious to find out if they ever redesigned the live well drain? On mine the drain is on the side about a 1/4″ above the bottom, so when you drain it out there’s always about a 1/4″ of water left in there. Engineers were definitely sleeping on that one!oldpalPosts: 10February 14, 2013 at 9:10 pm #1141930Jesse,
You are going to love that boat. I have a 2011 1790Tand it’s been a great ride. Don’t know what prop came with your boat. Mine came with a Yamaha 16p SS and it was not a good match for this boat. With it getting on plane with just myself it was just OK with two or three it was a real struggle. Top speed with the SS alone in the boat was 37MPH (GPS). I switched to a Mercury 4 blade Spitfire 15P and it became a new boat. Getting on plane is no longer a problem and top speed only drop 1-2 MPH.oldpalPosts: 10February 14, 2013 at 9:13 pm #1141932I have a 2011 1790T and it has (had) the same problem. I fixed the problem by adding a second drain. There is an area in the back just below the factory drain that is about 2” square and ¼” to ½” deeper the rest of the livewell. I assume this is where the drain should have been had there been enough room below the livewell. I purchased a ½” 90 degree aquarium bulkhead fitting. You need to drill a 1 1/8” hole in the livewell (used a 90 degree drill). There is just enough room under the livewell for this to fit. With a little twisting and stretching I was able to reach and tighten it in place. I ran some flex tubing to a tee in the main line and presto no more water in the livewell when it drains. To top it off I added some LED livewell light at the same time.
February 15, 2013 at 3:37 am #1142066That is pretty darn creative! Can’t believe Skeeter went all those years, and didn’t remedy that?? Other than that I really like the boat.
