Hey Mr. Granrud, I love your “Skeeter-in-the-foreground” pix. Inspired me to get the right angle for this one.
Young eagle with fresh squirrel lunch right above my driveway-bound Skeeter. Saw a redtail with squirrel in tow about an hour earlier, but being flogged by a dozen crows. Later saw a Cooper’s hawk make a bid for a bird in my backyard, but no luck. Topped off by this young eagle humping it through the backyard. Thought he was headed to a “reserve” area near me, but I think he wanted to lay low before the crows saw him. Neighbor kids and I took pix and video for about an hour. Not sure who was more excited, me or neighbor kids.
