Well, here it is. The very first MX 2025 to roll off the line. This boat has been a long time coming and eagerly anticipated since the release of the MX 1825 last spring.

And YES that’s a 300 HP Yamaha Off Shore 4 Stroke hanging on the transom. This boat is designed with a open, fishing friendly lay-out with features not found elsewhere. Like the Rod Holster on the port side that will hold 12 FOOT one piece rods!

First thing I see in this photo is a much larger front casting platform which is going to make the muskie guys very, very happy. When the MX 1825 was released it was immediately latched on to by the muskie guy that fished two anglers at a time. With the MX 2025 there’s plenty of room for two guys hucking baits up front with another on the rear casting deck. Walleye guys like me will love the added length of the MX 2025 as the extra 2 foot will make this hull a very capable big water boat in its own right.

Here’s a shot at the back of the boat showing what looks to be a very nice livewell tweak you might not notice unless you really took the time to look it through carefully. The 50″ livewell now has a recessed gasket that mates with the top of the livewell to keep the water in the well when conditions get rough and the water starts sloshing around side to side.

And maybe it is the camera angle but my eyes are telling me that back deck is a little bit bigger. Two inches, maybe three. Subtle but will be appreciated by late season walleye and muskie guys when they’re stomping around in boots or when the net man has to make it to the back of the boat to scoop a fish.

That’s a good looking boat! Maybe I can swing a used one in 2023.

After seeing the first photo of the MX 2025 from the side and now this photo one thing’s certain, the engineers at Skeeter didn’t stretch the MX 1825 hull two feet and call it a day. The MX 1825 rides above the fenders when sitting on the trailer. Notice in the first photo that the hull is most definitely nestled down inside the fenders. And in this photo it definitely looks like the sides of the boat angle down under the hull more quickly than on the MX 1825. These mods should make for a better ride in rough water and on the trailer.

The pronounced keel on the MX 1825 has been retained which I’m excited to see. The low-speed handling on the MX 1825 is really quite amazing and is one of the main reasons that MX became the fastest selling Skeeter in the midwest.

For anyone thinking about making it to a Ride N Drive the best way to gain an appreciation for the keel on the MX boats is to drop the bow electric and make slow-speed turns or hold a position in wind and current. You basically feel like you’re stuck in place down in the water versus feeling like the boat is simply blowing around on top of it.

Here’s another shot that really shows the MX 2025 nestled down inside the fenders.

Who would have thought white fenders could look so sharp?!

This one shows some subtle changes to the dash from the MX 1825. The traditional style gauges are gone and have been replaced by the Yamaha gauges. Makes sense to me. The Yamaha gauges monitor many engine functions that go well beyond speed and RPMs and in my experience are very accurate. No point in cluttering up the dash with redundant gauges that really don’t get used.

The rocker switches are retained from the MX 1825 although the order of the switches has been changed putting the power switch away from the outside edge of the dash where it can be bumped on or off by a unaware fishing buddy as he walked past. Nothing major but a nice fix nonetheless. Particularly for those of us that fish with guys that can be described as “clumsy.” (I’m talking to you Joel Nelson. )

Digital tuner (AM/FM + MP3 player interface) and the under console shelves are still standard I assume.

Here’s the shot that should make all the guys that wanted more bow deck space smile. That looks like 12″ – 14″ of new deck space up there versus the MX 1825. If you like room to roam or need to fish two guys from the bow the MX 2025 will have the dance floor you’re looking for. I would also assume that means the bow rod storage is now longer by over a foot as well.

And last but not least, a shot of the logo. Once this last photo is online I’m going to see who I need to bug to find out about the prop testing that took place yesterday to see if I can get some dirt on the performance of these new Skeeter Boats. If I can get some info I’ll be sure to share it here ASAP.

I don’t even want to know what the price tag is on this beast – I guess like they say ” If you have to ask – you Can’t afford it ” It is a sharp looking machine, and that is comming from a Bass guy who is not a Skeeter fan.

I wonder what the performance difference is between the hot rod 4S 250 SHO bass motor and the 300 Offshore? What an awesome looking boat! Let’s see, if I drop off the WX1850 for winter storage at SBC, and next spring drag one of these home do you think the Mrs. will notice?

Take about a foot off the back casting deck, throw a 150 hp yammie tiller on that boat and you would have a very nice tiller rig.

The release of these 2 boats in 24 hours by skeeter is really good to see, not to mention sharp rigs.

So,,,,, who gets the WX and who gets the MX?

Good thing they put out two boats—otherwise, we could sell tickets for to an arm wrestling match between James and Dean!!!!! Might be a good fund raiser! I’d say a coffee drinking-cookie eating contest could settle it as well,,,, but Deano would have too much of an advantage there!

    Nice boats!!!!!

These motors use the same engine blocks with the biggest difference, besides the additional 50 HP the 300 has over the 250, would be the shaft length over the lower units. The SHO is a 20″ shaft. The 300 is a 25″ shaft. Outside of that they’re the same motors with a 50 HP edge to the 300.

If you’ve not driven a 300 Off Shore on a walleye boat my advice is to turn your hat around before hitting the throttle. The days of slower hole shots and speed advantages to 2 stroke motors are behind us.

These two new boats won’t be replaced by larger boats on a year or two. We can expect to see new models with similar features but in the 17′-19′ range. The new models we see today will be flagship models for years to come.

Dean, measure the lengh and width so I can see if it fits in my garage. Might as well do the height with the double bubble just incase I need to make an “addition” to the garage.

I assume it will come with a full windsheld option?

Is there room for up right rod holders in front of the consoles, and still open the front hatches?

I’m pretty sure the bait well lid on this new 2025 opens the same way it does on the 1825.
