In my best Paul Revere imitation… the Skeeters are coming, the Skeeters are coming!

Skeeter is set to pull the cloak of secrecy back on two new models in the next couple weeks leading up to their summer Dealer’s Meeting.

The WX 2190 is the heir apparent to the Skeeter “Big Water Boat” throne. Nearly 22′ long with a max power rating of 300 HP this is one big water, wave buster!

Here’s some sneak peek pics from the factory floor taken this morning. This is the first WX 2190 in the final stages of assembly. As soon as she’s done… this big girl is headed north!

That’s one gorgeous boat. Right off the bat I’m noticing a factory standard jackplate and a more pronounced flare in the hull from the bow about 1/3 of the way back along the boat. I can only assume the engineers found a way to improve on the ride of the WX 2100 which many feel is already very impressive. Until I get a turn behind the wheel I’ll not know for sure but based on the pics… I like what I see!

More pics to come! There’s lots of improvements, new storage ideas and refinements that I can spot in the pics from a quick look.

Here’s a shot from the bow. What I’m seeing here is Skeeter did NOT sacrifice storage by making changes to the hull. In fact it looks to be the same general lay-out in the bow as the WX 2100 which means the WX 2190 will have more bow storage than any other big water walleye hull out there. If you’re not familiar with how much storage there is in one of these boats I’ll have to dig up the pics of Granrud’s wife hiding out in the starboard compartment… the small side!

Also notice the addition of tackle storage compartments on each side. Nice.

Simply awesome I have been working on colors for mine

Any reason why they went with non molded fenders and no more tuff coat on the trailer?? That aluminum looks nice but that means I will have to buff that too

Here’s a shot of where the rubber meets the road… the bow keel. I’m seeing a much more pronounced keel with a rapid flair from keel to water line. In comparison the WX 2100 is much more “barrel chested.” I’ll need some on the water testing to be sure but my gut tells me this new WX 2190 hull will split waves better than the WX 2100 and should track more like the MX 1825 given the pronounced keel that I assume continues well under the hull. The pronounced keel on the MX 1825 makes handling at slow speeds amazingly responsive. This type of addition will be great in a big water boat as it will make trolling and drifting much, much easier.

Looks great! I’m guessing they slapped the trailer together to get it up here and will be working on a molded fender trailer.

Here’s a shot of the back of the boat and another nice surprise! The jumpseats have been retained (YES!) and moved out to the sides which allows for a centered livewell that is much, much easier to access than the livewell on the WX 2100. Another nice thing about the centered livewell is that it will make it much easier to keep the boat balanced. Off-set livewells represent a lot of weight to one side of the boat. Not a big deal most of the time. I can be a huge deal when you’re running in some real snotty conditions.

I like additional storage! Here’s a shot of the passenger console. Why’s that a big deal you ask? I guess taken alone it really isn’t that earth shattering. I’m just happy to see a BIG passenger console glove box as the glove box on the WX 2100 was far too small in my opinion.

Here’s Command and Control for the driver. Looks slick! The push-button controls on my WX 2100’s have been very reliable and very easy to use so I’m happy to see they went that route on the WX 2190 as well… while upgrading everything across the board from the looks of things, of course.

Very sharp looking boat. The keel looks to be a tracking machine, add the new I-link I-pilot and that boat should track like its on rails. Interested to here your on the water testing results.

Final observation… for now. I’m told more pics and details regarding performance will follow in the days leading up to the Dealer’s Meeting.

If you peak behind the passenger seat it looks like the port rod locker is now a Rod Holster! 12 foot one-piece rod storage for the long rods. That’s a big upgrade in my opinion.

This is a hull that will make attending a Skeeter Ride N Drive to test it out yourself all but mandatory.

I’m told it will head this way immediately following the Dealer Meeting but I do know there will be a fight for that honor. So far its looking good.

That is a sick looking boat James. I’ll have to get to a ride and drive for sure. Any idea what the price tag will be on something like this?

Don’t even want to speculate… but I know the guys at Skeeter Boat Center will be able to comment on that accurately following the dealer meeting.

That’s a shop trailer used to finalize assembly. This boat really did just roll off the production line. I’m told polymer fenders, like what is standard on the WX 2100, will be standard on the WX 2190 w/options for Tuff Coat or stainless steel fenders available.

Absolutely LOVE the look of the big front deck. Storage is a wonderful thing, especially when it’s arranged just-right, but esp. coming from a slightly smaller boat, floor-space is a premium.

It consistently amazes me the number of applications where casting angle and rigging configurations is important. The guy in front might have the only and proper angle of attack for a certain piece of cover or structure, and being able to fit two fishermen up there comfortably when the situation calls for it can make all the difference in the world.

    Impressed!

Now I am happy I didn’t trade in my 2008 WX2100. Could be a 2190 in my future?

Even I, an avowed pontoon aficionado and catfish guy, like the look and feel of this boat. What’s she gonna run, $30k?

If only I were on the water that much.

I’d bet you aren’t even half way to the out-the-door price with your guess…..

Nice rig, but for this average working family guy, it is only a pipe dream not based in reality.

Wow! Awesome looking rig. A true lake of the woods wave eating machine. now if it only came with a swing bow so I could fit her in the garage.
