Has anyone else had issues with the seats on there Skeeter? My captains seat is completely “mushrooming” down on the sides after only a little over 1 year of use. The other two seats seem to be holding up ok, but mine is shot. Now I am a big guy, about 250, but still, only 1 year? I’m not even sure if there is warranty on the seats? I bought it used in the fall of 2010, only been used on 2 fishing trips when I bought it.

So does anyone have any suggestions on a new better quality seat?

I would hope they will replace the seat.

I bought a new alumacraft last fall and some stiching came loose on one of my seats. The dealer is replacing with a brand new seat at no charge. Good luck!

Dont feel alone. Mine and my dads seats in our 2100’s(2011) fell apart too. I got one replacement last year and now this year they sent me 2 new style seats. Working on getting the other 2 replaced even though they arent bad because they dont get much use.

Skeeter knows they have a problem with the seats and they will take care of it.

I did send an email to the Skeeter warranty dept., the response I got back is to take it to my dealer and it will be covered under warranty “if you are the original owner”. There’s the problem, I not.

A dealer should be able to work through it for you and get it covered!

Same issue for me with my driver seat – the one that gets the most use. Lasted just one year.

I got an another email back from the Skeeter warranty dept., they will replace the seat “at a reduced cost” since I’m not the original owner. I’m waiting to here how much it will be.

I wonder what they changed since ’05? Mine still work great and I run a tiller so the drivers seat gets used all the time.

The seat is a completely different design. The padding on the front edges arent supported by anything underneath and they break down. Thats why they have a new seat design this year

Another update from Skeeter. The “reduced price” for a new seat, 2012 model, is $225. The seat looks like a Attwood Centric™ II, which I could buy from Cabela’s for $229.

Now I have to decide if I want to go with that seat or just get a different brand seat. Either way it looks like it won’t match my other seats and will be out of my pocket.

If you give a skeeter dealer your boats vin number they can order you exact color match seats for your rig.

You have a representative from a well known Skeeter dealer (#1 Skeeter Dealer in the Midwest according to their sponsor add for this site) who replied above advising you to work with a dealer. I guess I’d recommend that you give him, or better yet General Manager Dean Marshall, a call. Just look for the post with the Skeeter Boat Center info in the Signature, the phone numbers are right there. Let us know how that pans out!!!

Thanks for the advise. I really don’t have a dealer close to me that I know of, I’m in SWMN. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Skeeter Boat Center and would be happy to try doing business with them when it comes time to have work done or trade my boat.
