Moving House Battery

I added a 9.9 kicker this spring to my WX1850. Love the motor, all good. We fish a lot the entire family, so two adults and two big boys. Obviously adding the kicker on the back changes the weight distribution in the boat. I run a 24V trolling motor system, so have room up front in the battery compartment for a 3rd. Has anyone moved their house battery up there to compensate partially for the weight of the kicker?

    Thanks!

No, not personally. But I have fished in boats with the battery moved up front (14′ V bottom resort boats). They just mounted 4 gauge wire to the side of the boat in a PVC tube then inclosed the battery in a small box.

There is no reason it will not work, just make sure your wire never comes into contact with your boat in case the wire stripping gets cut or wears through.

    Good luck!
