Skeeters WX2100 and the SBC!!

A lot has been made about the wave smashing performance of the “WX” series of boats. Skeeter truly produces the most dominating Walleye boat in the market today. As a guy that demands a lot out of my equipment the WX2100 simply has delivered for me, now on my 3 straight guide season with Skeeter Boats.

My Fishing cap is tipped to both the “WX” series and the Skeeter Boat Center standing along side the product and customer. BTW a product without great customer service behind it can also give anglers a LARGE headache. We’ve all had our own experiences. The combination of IMHO the greatest Walleye boat in production and the hands down best dealership in the country……Makes me a happy fisherman.

Guiding truly tests fishing equipment. Back in the day “Guide Tested” was a stamp the fishing industry used to let weekend anglers know this product was put through a daily grind. Now of course this terminology is a bit watered down through misguided marketing campaigns, but the true validity of the concept still has value. Here is a couple things I’d like to point out. The “WX” series of boats have MORE storage, MORE big wave performance (DRY RIDE), Deeper Cockpit (SAFE AND DRY) and is offered at far less $$ than much of the competition. These are factors most all Skeeter Boat owners already realize. Still the thing that I’ve noticed…….is the FACT that my boat has held up ROCK SOLID. It nearly looks the same as it did when I rolled it out of the SBC.

THEN we have the 300hp Yamaha “Off Shore”. Frankly………..I’m YAMAHA ALL THE WAY!! I’ve owned my share of motors and give me Yamaha. HANDS DOWN. AMAZING!! SIMPLY AMAZING. Not only does it have “gamechanging” power in 4 stroke technology, but it has the same Yamaha reliability we as anglers trust when we head out on the lake. I’m not just talking about having a weekend fishing trip ruined becuase your motor has a bad day; I’m talking about SAFETY. I rely on Yamaha to bring us out in ALL conditions and BRING US BACK!! Frankly I’ll admit I was slightly concerned with the introduction of this new technology that POSSIBLY the motor would lose some of Yamaha’s reliablity. YEP I like FAST!! Still I would choose smooth reliable performance over a couple more MPH. To this day my “YAMIE” has 247 hours on it and has not missed a single beat!! I talk with my customers during our ride out OVER the purr of a 300hp motor!! No smoke inhalation either. It has performed to PERFECTION.

I guess as I sit here this morning watching a rather brisk 25mph wind smoking across our protected bay coupled with sideways rain splattering on our windows I couldn’t help but give thanks to the boat and dealership that continues to enable our daily fishing adventures on Rainy Lake!!

The Skeeter Boat Center comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I MEAN……..I would drive to TEXAS if need be to have the peace of mind that my most prized asset in my fishing career receives this attention to detail.

If you haven’t been there. If you haven’t shook Dave’s hand. If you haven’t shared a cup of coffee with Deano. If you haven’t sensed the Passion Greg has for Boats and Fishing, If you haven’t had the service team rig your boat with care……..You haven’t experienced the true paradigm of working with a boat dealership.

As I walked to “Sho-Time” the otherday from Thunderbird Lodge I had a group of anglers peering at it from the dock. I’ll admit I was a bit proud to hop in my “WALLEYE GEM” while answering a few questions. The one fella in particular smiled while scratching is head and said this boat is like a “CORVETTE”. His buddy pointed to the 300 Ponies and said more like a Lamborghini. I replied “If I could just get that center walk through windshield to flip upwards and out to the sides”.

    NEXT YEAR!!

    EAT………SLEEP…….FISH!!

IF you sometimes forget to Eat, can’t sleep, but still fish……..You need a Skeeter!!

I will second what Chris has said about Yammies. I have owned 4 and all have been nothing but great. Always start and just keep on going. My new boat is my first Skeeter & first time dealing with SBC. So far I am ecstatic with both. I have owned 3 quality aluminum boats and thought that I would always be in one. I will have to be much older and grayer before I will ever go back to an aluminum boat. What that means I will have to downsize probably some years down the road but for now Skeeter is the best fit, ride,& fishability for me.
