Difference between ZX and WX series boats?

My buddy called me because he is looking at a 2050 ZX boat, and being that I have a WX1850, he wanted my input. I really don’t know anything about the ZX’s, so I could only share with him my thoughts (nothing but positive) on mine.

Does anyone out there know the differenes between the ZX 2050 and the WX2100 boats? Is there a big difference in the hull, ride, features and what not?

    Thanks for any info given.

The ZX and WX are two totally different boats. Your WX is a deep V boat with taller gunnels. And the ZX is a bass boat. A very nice bass boat at that! But the two are totally different designs.

I was going to say Boat drivers cap on backwards or forwards.

I am confused. I thought the ZX was the predecessor to the WX? He emailed me a pic of the boat and it looks nothing like a bass boat. It is a earlier 2000 model (05 or 06) 2050.

Yes, that boat is exactly like the one he’s looking at. Now that we’ve established that it’s a walleye (deep V) boat, does anyone have any comparisons to the WX series?

I’m no help. I just knew it was a walleye boat.

There are plenty of differneces between the two. But yes they are both deep v boats.

I will have Greg Rudisill hop in here and he will have some answers for ya.

I have owned a ZX 2050 and it was a great boat. Pretty much the same amount of storage in the bow as my WX 2100. The biggest difference is the WX 2100 rides better in rough water. The ZX was a faster hull. I had no complaints with my 06 and my dad had his 05 for 6 years without any problems.

The Skeeter ZX-2050 was in production from 2001-2007 was 20’4″ length and thinkin 95″ on the beam. Had rear livewell saddlebags both sides and a 300 rating for 3 years when the 2 stroke 300 was available. The WX-2100 was available from May 2007 and is still in the Skeeter line up with a 300HP rating. The 2100 Is 21’long with a 97.5″ beam with the rear jump seats that the old 2050 did not have. The WX-2100 was made as a replacement with improved stability and rough water handling for big water. This is the current “Flagship” in the Skeeter WX line up.
I have owned several 2050’s and 2100’s. Feel free to PM me with any more Q’s???

I have a ZX2050 and run Lake Michigan/Green Bay with no issues at all in the rough stuff. (real 4-6 footers)
