WX1850 Snap in Carpet?

Why is Snap in Carpet standard equipment on every other WX, MX and the 2000 T boats but not available in the 1850?

Looking thru the specifications… and I already have a WX1850 ordered as of Monday.

Both the 1850 and the 1900 are identical boats in regards to dry weight, size and capacities. The only difference is the 1900 is rated for a 200hp motor and the 1850 is rated for a 150.

Snap in carpet was one of my specifications, but it is not available in the 1850. Would it be a mistake to go to the 1900 with snap in carpet and stay with the 150 I already have purchased…. I know they say to max out HP, but these two boats are identical, except for the horsepower rating, and I believe the 1900 does not have a step in the transom..

    Thoughts?

Good question (why no snap-in carpet) to which I don’t have an answer. I bought a ’10 1850 and it is the only thing I don’t like about it, but I couldn’t justify such a jump in price, just for the snap-in carpet. I’m guessing that, being these models are so close to being identical, they needed something else to justify the additional price of the 1900.

I emailed the company shortly after receiving my boat and asked them if by ripping out the carpet I could make it the same as a snap-out floor, minus the snaps. I never got a reply.

I requested it on my ordered 1850 and got told no. I’m guessing it isnt as simple as simply doing snap in carpet vs glued in. I bet it has to do with the fact that the 1850 doesnt have a dimpled gelled finished floor as an option like all the other models.

My personal opinion would be to NOT put a 150 on the 1900. The step in the transom doesnt seem like much but the extra lift that it gives the boat is quite a bit.
If you were to go to the 1900 I would suggust going with the 200hpdi. We havent tested the 200 4 stroke enough ourself to say what that motor will do on the boat, but that is a possibility.

    Eric,

What is the cost for a replacement snap in carpet in the 1900?

    Thanks,
    Mike
