Well got the new boat out Sun. for a little break in time. left the fish poles home to not be tempted to shut the motor down. Got 3 1/2 hours in. It is going to be sweet when she is all set up to go. I think fishing out of it in any fashion is going to be great.

I also have a new one on the way with a 200 yamaha hpdi. Anyone know what break-in is for this motor? Just curious.

Andrew, the boys at Skeeter Boat Center will walk you through all of that. I don’t remember exactly, so I’ll defer to them.

The break in for a 2 stroke is the first hour at or around 3k rpms. The second hour is at or around 4k rpms. The next 8 hours is at any rpm range without holding it wide open or in one spot for more than 5-10 minutes. That gives you a total of 10 hours.
We do the intial 2 hours on the boats though also!

OK, sounds good. So, I will be able to move right to opening her up when I get her in a few weeks?

Yes, BUT without holding it at wot or any one rpm range for more than 5 minutes at a time. All of that stuff will be gone over with you when you are here and take delivery.

Sounds like a hassle. To make your life easier, I will trade you. I can deal with that pesky break-in period and you can do whatever you want with my ’93 Merc.
