Recently I had my 2006 Skeeter 2050WX winterized and stored at the Skeeter boat center,

The report on my engine performance reveals I have ran the Big Girl ony 118 hrs since I bought it in 2007.

I am just curious about how that compares to others who may have had their engines analyzed.

I do see that I need to get out more often

I got my WX1850 on June 6th of this year. As of today there is 55.4 hours on the main motor. I figure I’ve got an average of 8 hours of fishing time for every 1 hour of motor time. I’m pretty happy with those numbers.

I’m sure Granrud and Skeeter20 will make our numbers look meek.

I had a F150 on my boat for 6 fishing seasons and had 292 hours on it.

I ended my season with just under 100hrs on the big motor and I don’t use it for trolling at all. I figure that’s a pretty good amount for a weekend warrior

here’s what i did on a new WX2000T/F150. i fished less than normal this year, but did spend 2 weeks on LotW which involves more long runs than most places.

    112 total hours
    60 hours <1000 rpm
    30 hours 1k-2k rpm
    05 hours 2k-4k rpm
    13 hours 4k-5k rpm
    06 hours >5000 rpm

i was surprised how many hours there were at idle speed. i was pleased how few hours i ran at WOT.

I don’t have the all the numbers with me, but I was surprised with the amount of idling time I had on mine also.

My ’09 2000T has 400+ hours over 2 seasons, but then again I use my main motor for almost all fishing techniques. I think 80-90% of those hours are at idle. Still runs great.

Four stroke;or two stroke? and does idling for long periods effect one, more than the other?

My motor is a 115 four stroke. It still runs just as good as the day I bought it. Idling is no problem and its so quiet that I forget its running someimes. Its the best motor I’ve ever owned.

Yeah you tiller guys sure do rack up the hours trolling! I cant imagine how many hrs some of these older tillers have on them that guys have never even checked before and still run like new.

I think when I get the boat back out of storage I am going to get a print out on the rpms/hrs. It could be interesting

FIRM checked my F150 (2009) when they tucked it away for the winter. 355 hours – 294 at idle. Trollin, trollin, trollin.

Kevin said they do some work for the Coast Guard boats up there, F150’s with 15,000+ hours on them. They’ll run for a loooonnnngggg time if you take care of them.

Ok let me ask this, what is the ideal ratio of RPMS on a 300HPDI, should it be run strong and aggressive, or should the RPMS fall a bit short of top end speed.

The amount of time at idle really surprised me,I run the big motor from piont A to Point B, and then use my kicker or terrova while fishing.
