I have a T8 kicker on my WX 1880. It has a tie bar to the 200 HPDI main motor.I have troll master. Thinking on adding manual throttle controls so I can shift in and out of gear at the console. I would like some input on how other guys have there boat rigged. If you have manual cable controls how do you like it.

i have a lund LE series pro-v. it has the set back console. my t-8 is on the starboard side, right behind the console. i have the connector for steering with the wheel, or i can use the tiller if i want depending on what type of trolling i am doing. throttle control is on the tiller, and electronics are right in front of me at the helm. works great for me

Here is MY opinion on it, Stay with what you have right now. Right now you have the most versitale option there is. If you want to be able to shift it from the helm, you will need a set of control cables, a control box and a key switch. That is IF you can even convert that motor to a remote. I would have to double check on that year and model to see if its even possible.
If you can and did convert it to a remote you would loose your tiller handle and all operation of that motor as a tiller and the steering and throttle would be just like your big motor.
For the type of fishing I do myself I would have a tiller for sure. You are limited on boat control with a remote kicker unless you drop the bow mount down every time and steer with that.

One last tid bit. Out of the roughly 40 boats with kickers that I have rigged this year I would say 25 are as a tiller only, 10 have the same set up as you, and 5 with the remote kicker.
    Just a FYI
