A “WX GUY” visits the MX series

This weekend my wife and I brought our WX2100 guide boat “Sho-Time” to her winter retreat at the SBC in Chippewa Falls. I was finally able to look at the MX series boat in person as Dave Marquart met us on SATURDAY morning. Coming from a true blue “WX GUY” I have to admit they nailed this boat design when they introduced the MX series. My hat is off to all who were involved in bringing this boat to the everyday multi-species angler at such a tremendous value versus cost.

Skeeter boats has effectively answered the demands of the angler with now two very dominate series of boats. It goes without saying you’ll have to pry the “WX” series out of my hands, but men if your a multi-species angler looking to go glass……your doing yourself an injustice by not scheduling a test ride in that MX boat as well. The SBC will help you uncover truly what you demand out of your fishing boat.

Chris I was at SBC Fri. with Dave and what a great experience. I had a top of the line tin boat and after reading everything and talking to a couple of guys that had driven or bought an MX after having tin boats there whole life. Anyway long story short the wife and I placed our order Fri. I can’t wait to see it and use it. Dave said around Jan. 1 it should be in. I hope to see you next spring on the houseboat safari with James. Mike Munyon

Hi Mike!! Looks like we missed each other by one day!! Your decision to move into the “MX” series from tin will prove brilliant. Your experience with Dave and the SBC you’ll find over the years is simply commonplace. I have many shared customers with the SBC that also utilize our guide service. As I talked with Dave this weekend I commended him on his keen ability to connect with his customers by listening to each anglers needs and wants. He cares and demands his staff cares as well. Your boat needs are quickly HIS concern and he simply makes things work for his customers.

The add of Dean Marshall to the Mix….Priceless IMHO. As many of us know Dean or “Deano” is a serice FIRST kind of guy. Anglers like myself that truly depend on our boat each season sleep well at night knowing the SBC has your back!! I had a buddy the otherday that asked how I feel about driving 5 hours from Ifalls to Chippewa Falls for my boat needs. I responded…….BEST DECISION I’VE EVER MADE CONCERNING A BOAT!! I’d drive 20 hours for that service and peace of mind.

Congrats on your order boat Mike!! What color scheme did you decide on??

Congrats, Mike. I look forward to seeing your new ride up on Rainy this spring. Did you go with the 150 or the 200?

The #1 thing heard from guys at the Ride N Drives about the ride and handling of the MX versus tin… “I didn’t know it could be that much better.”

James I went with 150. I had that on my other boat and loved it. Never had back to the shop until this past spring. I had the dealer put a WP impellor in only as preventive maint. Since I have my own auto shop most reg. stuff I do myself. See you next spring. I have 4 guys returning just trying to get a full boat. Mike

Sounds Awesome Mike!! I’m going to the SBC site right now to punch in that color combo to see it!! Who hasn’t spent the whole night (When the better half sleeps) on that site designing boat color schemes.

Tell me about it. I thought I had it all figured out and I still spent 4 hours with Dave. Most patient man I ever met. I probably had 8 hours on the boat builder before I got there. Several printed out versions that when I saw the real colors just didn’t quite cut it. The wife and I must have made a dozen trips to the shop or outside in the lot. As Dave calls it “The Color Dance”. Skeeter has so many options and stripe colors that your boat can be YOUR BOAT.

Amen Mike!! AMEN!! Not even taking into consideration the endless rigging options they so carefully go over with you to best fit your needs. One customer at a time; The SBC crew raises the bar for service from the initial sale to year end winterizing for the entire boat industry.

    Mike,
Congrats on the new boat & sorry I missed ya. Eric & I were getting ready for Saugerama so Dave was front & center for us. Good to see some Badger red on your order sheet!

Mr Granrud, there appears to be an excess of golden colored walleye scales inside your boat….we are working on that and Sho time is resting fine!

LOL!! There might be a few!!

Dean…….I was just thinking about when you and I fished together for the first time here on Rainy a few years ago. Nothing like RUNNING OUT OF SHINERS. Lots of fun bud!! I think we still have the “Fish Off” to finish.

That was precisely what I thought upon my initial review as well. Holst played a large role along with other anglers helping design this boat. I really love the direction Skeeter is heading by USING input from anglers. Designing boats from massive amounts of information gathering from guys that do it “HARDCORE” then designing a boat FOR THEM; Just seems simple in concept, yet some aren’t there.

What are you running now moreeyes? BTW clever name.
