MX 1825 foot throttle?

I am moving from a bass boat to the MX 1825 and wonder if the seating position would suit a foot throttle. I find them a very safe option when faced with sudden boat wash, or when navigating winding timbered creeks at speed. Boat will be fitted with a 175 Suzuki.
    Thanks for any input.

I’m not sure how they are mounted, but there is plenty of leg room between the seat and console.

I’m 6’4″ and there’s plenty of legroom. I’ve never seen one mounted in an MX but I’m sure there’s a way to get it done.

I was told by my dealer once that the only downside to having a foot throttle on a walleye boat is that you sit higher in the driver’s seat. This would make it hard to keep steady pressure on the pedal in rough water because you and your foot is bouncing up and down. In a bass boat, you are almost sitting on the floor and your leg is stretched out in front of you. I’m sure it could work, but I wouldn’t expect the same results that you see in a bass boat. It also might be more strain on your leg with long runs, much like driving. Just something to think about. I have seen a few walleye boats with them, but never known someone with one.

I know a couple people that have them on Ranger 620 boats. The only problem they have ever had is that when you load the boat on the trailer at the ramp, you have to be sitting in your seat. 90% of the time in my Skeeter I’m kneeling on my seat so I can see the trailer over the bow. From a sitting position it just wouldn’t work for me.

I drove a foot throttle walleye boat once (Ranger 621) in AR and it was calm. I was trying to picture driving it in any sizeable waves and feel like it would (potentially be) dangerous – either from taking your foot off the throttle or stomping on it. Also, docking was a pain as I was worried about giving it too much gas. I would think with practice this may be much less of an issue, but I was a throttle guy and now am a tiller guy so what does that say about me…
