MX 1825 Short Report

After finally getting our first MX dual console with the 200hpdi in and rigged, I was able to spend a fair amount of time out on the water today with it. To say I was happy with it would be an understatement. It meet my expectations and exceeded most of them.

The tracking of this boat is simply unbelievable. Whether it be mid range, full throttle, or on the trolling motor in the wind, it simply just stays put and grabs. With the accentuated keel, this boat will just about “turn on a dime” Which is very nice for running the backwaters in the river or any skinny water.

Now for what everyone has been waiting for, the details.

This boat was water tested with the following equipment on it.

    Full windshield

    T9.9 kicker

    Trolling Motor

    3-31 series Odyssey Batteries (78lbs a piece)

    Full oil reservoir (2.5gals)

    20 gal fuel

    2 people

Lake conditions were a slight chop. Not smooth by any means but not rough either.

Depending on the wind direction the top speed varied from 55.8 to 56.8. I would have confidence saying that this boat will be a high 55mph to low 56mph boat. Im thinking with more time spent with it a guy may be able to tweak a few things a get a touch more out of it though.

One thing that also impressed me was the fact that the boat could stay on full plane at 19mph.

The hole shot with the 200hpdi is also very good. Its hard to put a number to it but just by the feel I would say it is quite quick!!!

That is about all I have for now. James will be posting a few short video clips and some more info in the very near future of this boat also!!!!

In the mean time, any questions feel free to ask away!!!!

Eric, were you using a Yamaha Pro Series 23M Stainless Steel prop?

    Eric,

Is there a remote fill standard when ordered with the 200 HPDI?

Yes, there is a remote tank that is located in one of the 2 rear compartments that is standard. It holds roughly 2 1/2 gals of oil, plus what little bit is in the tank that is mounted on the motor.

I will hopefully get a pretty good selection of pictures tomorrow morning before the boat leaves also.

And just an FYI we will be hosting a Ride and Drive in Lacrosse next weekend, Friday August 4th and 5th and will have both a single console w/ a 150 and dual console with a 200hpdi. Along with the WX models and a few bass boats.

Eric, which hole is the outboard mounted in? In the photo, it looks like the third down from the top of the mounting bracket?

To be honest Im not exactly sure. I didnt look at this one close enough to remember where it was. I will look in the morning and get back to you.

If it is the same as the 150’s it will be the second hole down. But I will double check in the morning.

    Hi Eric,

I understand there is a remote TANK, but is there a remote FILL location? I would think that it would be a pain in the a$$ to fill the tank in one of the rear compartments.

    Thanks again,

Sorry I mis-read your post. There is not a remote fill location.

It is actually quite easy to fill it up. I will get a few pics tomorrow of it for you and all to see.

The rear door that it is in is approximately 13″ x 16″ or so. It is quite easy to fill, and there is also a little extra room in that compartment for an extra gal of oil, funnel and a few rags if need be.

    Sweet! A couple questions:

It looks like the oil reservoir is in one of the storage areas, so if a person gets a 150 they will have that area open for storage?

What is the theory behind those pedestal mounts back by the motor? They look pretty far back, so would someone sit there while running the tiller by hand or is it more for a seat to use while casting from the back?

I’d add…would the main motor hit one of the pedestals if you raise it??

You are correct, the one storage area is used for the oil tank. There is also still some room in front of the tank for things such as, funnels, extra oil, rod holders, docking ropes, etc.

That storage area WILL be open just like the other side if one opts for the 150!!!

The theory behind the pedistal locations is based on being able to put a butt seat or 2 back there for casting/pitching off the rear deck. Also you could run the tiller kicker from there with and handle extension, or use the rear seat base with a handle extension also!!

From what little testing I did the motor will not hit the butt seat while tilted all the way up!!
