Anyone have any luck with an after market cover on these boats? Only need one for a couple of trips a year. Thanks

Try Boatcovers.com. I just use mine for a cover and not trailering. They have different kinds for just covers to ones for trailering.

Mines kept in the garage where I can look at it when ever I want. Just looking for something for the out of state once a year thing and don’t want to shell out for a custom cover.

Boatcovers.com has what I’m looking for,for a good price, anyone tried the custom travel covers? Little worried about getting the boat rubbed up.

I had one custom made for the 1880. It fit like a glove when sinched down. This one does not have snaps though and was not a ratchet cover. It was designed as a traveling cover too. I used it once. It rubbed the gel-caot on both sides, so now it only gets used when parked at the cabin or at a hotel or campsite outside – when not moving. I have traveled without a cover ever since.
There is a place in Lindstrom that makes specialty ratchet covers for Skeeters and other boat brands. I think Frankies sends his Skeeters there for ratchet covers too. I’ve talked to one tourney guy who uses this guys ratchet cover on his Skeeter and he says it works perfect – no rubbing either. I may bring my old cover up there and see if he can manipulate the thing into a good ratchet cover for me one of these days.
….Good luck finding a good fit.

I bought my Skeeter at Frankies, and yes, he uses Lakes Area Canvas for his custom covers. I have a ratchet cover made by them for my ’10 WX 1850. Very nice. I also had a cover made by him for my previous boat and would highly recommend this guy.

Since I live near Boatcovers.com headquarters I brought my boat (Skeeter) to them for a custom travel/storage cover. It got the Prism fabric. It’s the best cover I’ve had going on 7 years now. Lightweight, 100% waterproof, breathes and travels well. On long distance travels I almost always have the cover on. No problems with wear on the cover or boat at all.

The heavy duty vinyl covers (I’ve owned) are nice, but heavy and they would wear on the paint of my other Aluminum boat.
