Sometimes a guy simply needs to fish out of his boat a number of times to truly appreciate what he has. Currently we’re 30 guide trips into the 2011 season, and there hasn’t been a day that has went by that I haven’t been GUSHING over our WX2100 Black/Red “SHO-TIME”. Our customers have repeatedly commented on how beautiful of a boat she is and how well she handles all that Rainy Lake can throw at anglers. THAT makes us feel we’re doing something right. This WX2100 is simply the ultimate in “Big Water Glass with a serious flash of Class”. The deeper hull and massive cockpit allows for safe travel with customers in ugly winds and the oversized bow has simply been used………..DAILY as we are currently working shallow water for monster fish. For anglers like me that fish 3 even 4 people out of the boat you can easily run a guy on the bow mount and 1 guy in a corner of the bow casting. This leaves the entire back end on the smaller casting platform for your 3rd guy. Ridiculous amount of room in the cockpit for unhooking fish along with customers personal items. The storage is second to NONE in the WX2100!! Many may recall last years pic where I convinced my wife Cheryl aka “Fishing Queen” to stow away in the smaller front compartment. This simply was to show the amount of storage a guy has to play with. All of my personal guide gear is neatly stowed away.

I have been incredibly impressed with Yamaha’s all new 300hp Yamaha “Off Shore” motor. The hole shot……….RIDICULOUS. I’m propped with the 4 blade 19 degree Rev. I wish I could put a tape together consisting of facial expressions from our customers as those 300 ponies head to the races. It always puts a smile and then a look around to everyone else in the boat as if to say……..”R U KIDDING ME!!”. That is what I am looking for. She sounds mean and flat out is ANGRY as she eats the big water and spits it back out!! Still she purrs like a Kitten at 40 mph as we settle in at 3.5 mpg which IMO is awesome for a 300!! We are all able to easily talk with one another while in transport. Still when we want to crank it up guys are in for the ride of their lives twisting and turning 21 feet of sparkling glass through the jackpines of Rainy Lake!! Yamaha……..YOU GOT IT RIGHT BOYS!!

My only suggestion for the Skeeter boys is we do have 1 issue. I would like to personally request a non-slip release strip on the side of our boat. I’m afraid it will become scratched from too much usage on big fish releases

Again…….KUDOS to the SBC on taking such good care of your customers. From the all new MX series that has made such a huge splash in the boating industry to the wave smashing performance of the WX series. Fisherman have taken serious notice of Skeeters dominance in the glass industry as of late. Couple that with the ultimate in customer service form guys like Dave, Gregg, Shawn and Chad………LIGHTS OUT!! I had a guy last week ask “Wow that is kind of a long way from Ifalls to purchase a boat, service……” I told him I have NO room for error in my guide boat, and I trust very few people with the bread and butter of our seaso. The Skeeter boys are all on my speed dial and I assure you I would drive 800 miles if needed for service and peace of mind like you get with your boat from those MEN!!

Sad to say I have some new ideas on things I’d like to add to my boat next year…. We’ll have to talk if I’m ever in cell phone range!! Who knows…….Maybe yet another custom boat design. I promised Cheryl that I was on the 2 year plan…….Still………….Promises are meant to be broken when it comes to Boys and Toys!!

Coming from my 2050 I didnt think it could get much better but this new 2100 flat rides and performs much better. I am also shocked with the hole shot and mid range power of the new Offshore. I think I have around 25 hours now on the big motor.

The added front depth of the bow is also very nice compared to the 2050. I remember the pic of the fishing queen in the storage, but I thought I would throw in that I was rigging some things and I had to get in the port side storage. At 5’11” 200lbs I didnt have a problem haha.

I got the perfect thing for the non slip strip so the top of the boat wont get scratched. Its 3M clear film like they use on cars. I have added this on the back of the boat where the main motor hose runs across the back, where my tiller handle is and below my throttle cause I hang clippers and pliers from it. I am next going to add it to the top of my fenders. It can be applied with water and a dash of soap in a spray bottom then position and squeegee out. The stuff is great and unless you look hard you wont even notice it. If it gets nicked up simply put on a new one.

One ride in that boat and it was over for me!! What a sweet rig, as we were sliceing through the 4 footer wensday, we laughed as the bow would smash waves downall the way to about 6 inches from coming over the nose but we were bone dry. Seconds llater I look back an told Chris we know you have a awsome dry ride when one of your cleints is sleep half sprawled over the gunnel at 35 mph!!
