I’ve never purchased a boat that didn’t come with one but I can’t say for sure who’s responsibility it is prior to delivery. Now that you have the boat… you’re the guy on the hook should you get stopped without one.

Thankfully they’re cheap to the tune of $16 for a USCG approved model. web page

Skeeter Boat Center puts the cardboard box with the extinguisher in it in the center rod storage. They leave the mounting to me so I can put it where I want it. Where did you buy the boat? I know a dealer isn’t likely to be open on Sunday but you could always give them a call monday to see if they provide one.

My boat didn’t come with one last year. Yes, they are cheap, but I was surprised not to see one in the boat after I picked it up (2010 WX1850).

Thanks for the reminder. I know my wx 1850 from SBC came with one, and I recall showing it to a DNR gentleman one evening last fall, but I can’t remember where I’ve got it stashed.

Not installed on a Skeeter but the last 3 boats I’ve owned had one.
I’ve just replaced mine after 11 years now. I would have not trusted it in an emergency! I should have replaced it several years ago now! Mine is mounted in plain sight and can be reached and deployed in minimal seconds!

Both of my WX2100’s from the SBC came with one.

I bought my boat from jnt marine pros in whitewater wi. I will give them a call today. I know there cheap I just don’t have it in me to drill into the boat yet. Can you just put it in a compartment?

As long as it is easily accessible I’m sure you’re fine.

I mounted one entirely with velcro. I used a lot of velcro top, side, and shoulder, and have it braced against 2 walls and resting on the flat portion above where the front passenger puts his feet, so I have some confidence it will hold. If I ever need it I just grab and pull, the mounting bracket and the extinguisher will both be in my hands in a second.
