I am running the stock Yamaha prop. 37-38 mph with two guys and full fuel but will hit rev limiter to get that speed. Would a SS 19 pitch prop perform better? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks

I am running the same set up as yours with the factory painted stainless 17p. 3 guys full load, and fuel 37.5 before the rev limiter kicks in. I am going to have my prop pithed to 18, and have some cupping done. Hoping that will bring my rpms down to around 5900 and gain a few mph on top. I will post in a few weeks when I get the work done.

I didn’t chime in right away because I was waiting to see what others had to say. I run the same factory prop simply because I’ve asked around and nobody has had better luck with anything else. I was always getting 37 mph +/- and then the dealer made an adjustment and since then I’ve been topping out at 39-40 mph.

Any updates on this from any of you? I also have a 2000T with a F115, the hole shot seems good, top end right at 38 but can over rev it with the factory 17p painted SS prop. I’ve only had it on the water once and that was on a small lake but it seems like I’m getting the same results as everyone else.

I finally had a chance to really open her up on my favorite lake. Fully loaded with my wife, 2 kids and the golden retriever top speed was about 37. I was getting right at 6000 rpm but felt like I could have trimmed up a little more. This is with the factory 17p painted SS.
While on the way home we stopped at a gas station and there was another 2000T with a 115 Yamaha, I took a look at his prop, it was also a 17P but was polished SS, looked like it had more cupping too. I wish I could have had a chance to talk with the owner but he was leaving just as we arrived.
Overall I love the boat, the storage is awesome. I did a fair amount of back trolling and it handled very well. It was also my first opportunity to really play with my HDS-10, I have to say I am very impressed with structure scan, I used the down imaging almost all the time….loved the detail!
