The MX series is a boat that is being designed very carefully by Skeeter to not only reach a broad base of multi-species agnlers, but still be very cost effective. This is no small task. The end price point in which I assure you I have no inside information on looks to be one that many anglers will find to be very attractive in glass or Tin for that matter. IMO the fact that it appears fisherman will be afforded the luxury of glass at a similiar price point as tin is unheard of. I really don’t think this boat is designed to compete with the WX series rather another effort from Skeeter boats to listen to the marketplace and design a boat based on anglers wants/needs. As always the medium of the internet is powerful, but the need to test drive the boat is essential for each person.

Sounds like this boat would be IDEAL for the Rainy River Allen!! Trust me I’m also waiting patiently for the introduction.

Maybe, for me I want a vee hull boat with a large back and front platform, large live wells and plenty of storage, I rarely go more than two in a boat so passenger seating is secondary, I want storage for long rods (8 foot plus) and room for a fat driver.

I want to be able to remove rear seating when northern or musky fishing and fold down seats don’t interest me in the least.

I want a kicker motor and bow mount electric that are both easy to use.
Also a split wind shied to keep warm and dry behind, add a Bimini top and we’re set.

Add the basic options they all seem to come with and yes I wouldn’t turn down a smooth ride, but either way when gale warnings are out…I’m not.

In 07 the closest thing to this was the 185 I have now, it lacks the back platform size I’d like and I’m stuck with 8 foot rod lockers, and while it may not ride as well as the glass boats, that’s nothing I’d trade boats for.

Big back platform now just might do it though.:)

Ya, the MX sounds like the boat I would have bought in 07 had it been out then and reasonably priced, I’m looking forward to seeing what it all about….even if it is glass…:)
