Does anyone have any experience on mounting the new Lowrance 3D SS transducer on a 2008 Wx2100 or similar Hull.. SBC told me to mount 3D transducer below the Step in the center of the boat to allow scanning while on plane.. My problem is transducer is to long and will hit motor when all the way down.. I could move it to the Starboard side away from motor, but It leaves the Transducer vulnerable to damage..My other option is to mount it on the transom.. But I may lose Scanning on plane and it may get used as a step..

Can you move the 3D ducer in either direction, on the step, so when the motor is trimmed all the way down it won’t hit? The step is open enough to the side of the boat to allow good reading of Side Imagine if not mounted perfectly center. Make sense?
Otherwise only other option is really to mount above the step. Whether its a 3D or LSS ducer mounting above the step gives great read outs as well.
