Skeeter WX1850 vs Skeeter MX1825

Wondering if anybody can offer insight on this model.

I’m currently looking for a used boat and am wondering how these compare. We wanted a 20′ glass boat with a full windshield, but our government has imposed a 10% tariff on all new and used boats imported into Canada. So with that and our weak dollar this adds 40% to the cost of a boat UGH!

So we either have to go much older than we want OR look at a smaller model. We are coming from an 18′ Lund Alaskan Tiller.

I don’t expect these 2 models to ride like a big 20 footer, but do you think we’ll notice an improvement in ride in an 18′ glass wheel boat?

How’s the storage in a WX1850, I see in the mx line it has a ton of storage and room for long trolling rods. I don’t seem to find much on the WX1850. So I’m curious on storage and performance of this model and opinions on this boat.

    Thanks

The Storage options in the MX series cannot be beat

Feathers, I would have loved to keep the Alaskan. I liked it, I just found it hunted way better than it fished (on windy days ) and we always seem to get windy fishing days.

After a few years, I really missed fishing out of my 680T. I just don’t remember fighting that boat in the waves and wind like I did the Alaskan. I’ll tell you what, if I just duck hunted I would have never let that boat go!

Thanks, JoeMX1825. The more I look at the mx1825 the more I think I could make a used one work until our tariffs are lifted and our dollar is a little stronger )

there were a couple of them for sale in MN this fall, they are typically kinda tough to find used from owners (you see more dealer trade-ins)…I searched used for awhile before being forced to buy new…in the end it was a great deal as I got exactly the boat I wanted vs somebody else’s setup…

That’s exactly what I went through when I got the Alaskan, just couldn’t find a used one here, looked for almost a year!

I have found a 2015 mx1825 for sale but it looks like it maybe in rough shape.

Joe, is your center window still level? The one I found looks like it’s sagging.

I have the WX 1850 but have fished out of a friends MX and would have these thoughts: For hardcore fishing the MX would be the winner due to the greater rod
storage and bigger livewell. The jump seats in the WX are great if you are bringing out the kids or a couple friends but make the livewell a little tougher to access. While not a big deal, the higher sides on the WX gave a bit more comfort when the waves came up on Superior a couple times. You really can’t go wrong with either boat ) Good luck on your search!

Thanks everybody for the info, it’s much appreciated!
Feathers, I would have like to do the same thing, but I don’t have room to store 2 18’+ boats HAHA!

I’m contemplating a used Estuary for my duck boat, going to look at one this weekend. I can fit it beside my house )

While I’ve only spent time in a wx2190 and sat in a wx1910 at a boat show. I found a 2015 MX1825 a couple hours for me. I’m going to try to go look at in January, can’t make till then.

From the pictures the flip open window, looks like it’s sagging. Has anybody with this boat experienced the middle window sagging, is this normal for a full windshield boat?
