I am looking to install a hydraulic atlas jack plate on my WX 2100.
Does anyone have any input on this setup?

I have a friend that has a 2100 and was told by skeeter a jack plate would void his hull warranty. You may want to verify that before you install one.

Warranty is up. Is there a real concern with the transom installing one or is it just a skeeter cya?

I wouldn’t worry about the stress of adding a jack plate, if you keep the setback to a minimum, such as 4″ or 6″. While more setback might gain a slight bit of speed, it also could come with some downsides, such as, transom stress, an increased tendency for the boat to porpoise, and also your boats trailer weighting balance on the trailer was positioned with no setback in mind, and the more the engine is set back, the more your trailer will want to wag if you make a quick movement with the steering wheel. If your winch stand is movable, you could always move it forward a couple of inches to better balance it out. I really don’t think transom stress is the real concern, heck the new Skeeters come with 12″ of setback, but I would think that their position on the trailer is set accordingly.

Mojo is correct. When I called the factory I was told that the hull was not engineered for a jack plate. I would doubt that you can find much info on performance. What it would do to your hull I do not know, but I wouldn’t risk it.

I have a 2018 WX2190 with an Atlas power jackplate. Works great, no issues at all at any speed.

That said, I have no idea what Skeeter’s stance is on a jackplate on a 2100 or how/if the internals of the 2100 vs 2190 differ in such a way that it would be unsafe or not recommended to put a jackplate on a 2100.

Maybe Dean Marshall from The Boat Center can chime in here…he’s probably forgotten more about Skeeter boats than I know about them.

My opinion and experience of hydraulic jackplates for deep v hulls is they are irreplaceable for shallow river back water situations.

After that, I really cant say it is worth the investment regarding performance, speed or rough water. Trim tab rough water benefits far out weigh the investment of the jack plate… Certainly several folks might disagree, but that’s my story & I’m sticking to it !
