My buddy and I were out fishing last night with the most basic of tools, worms and bobbers. It was probably some of the most fun I have had fishing. Throwing that worm and hook out five feet in front of us and immediately getting a bite. We looked like giddy school girls, laughing and having a merry time! It is always great when you catch that monster of a fish, but sometimes it doesn’t get any better than catching those gills! Just my two cents toast

Awesome! Fishing for panfish is still my favorite way to fish. I like to use artificial bait with a slip bobber, but it’s fun to use a big ol’ fat nightcrawler too. Nothing like the sight and smell of nightcrawler guts stuck under your nails! Some of those sunnies fight like monsters too! Then you get them in the boat and somehow they’ve managed to shrink. They’re sneaky like that. grin

The boys and I got into some nice ones yesterday. Caught them on main lake humps. Some real Bulls too. Biggest was 10.5″. The kiddos really squealed when those sunfish did their sideways circle pull under the boat. I didn’t get to fish much because of the wind I was too busy with the boat and the oldest broke his pole so he used mine. We had fun though. Kept them out 6 hours. I’m surprised the youngest made it that long. The oldest would sit there all day. All fish were thrown back. went through 2 dozen crawlers and 2 dozen panfish leeches.

Next time just have the boys lay on their sides. lol
Anyway drifter, I always enjoy folks fish photos especially the little people. Your little guy sure looks to have a good grip on that northern. Must’ve said it was a “slimer”. Hopefully soon I can get some time with my grandsons to learn how to hold a “slimer”. waytogo

Naw. That was the third attempt at a picture with that nort. He is learning with experience. LOL. He started calling the sunnies pricks, because they were poking him. I had to expand his vocabulary on that one. don’t know where he would have learned a word like that. redface

Nothing like getting into a good mess of panfish. Bluegills and crappies are my target fish of choice and I just love it when you get into a frenzy of feeding panfish. Great job.
