Looking for something different on the internet yesterday and came up with dozens of recipes for pheasant but we tried this one since it was so simple. Normally we deep fry because I’ve got that method down and its so good. This is a baked recipe.

Flour birds (salt and pepper) then brown in oil. Transfer to covered baking dish and add this mix:
    1c sour cream
    3T dry onion soup mix
    1/2 c milk

Bake an hour at 350. Or until tender.

It was good and very tender. I thought it would be more gravy like but everything dried up in the dish into more of a thick paste. Maybe my oven was a little hot or maybe I would add more milk or some water next time?
Its worth a try but I like my old standby oven recipe better. Good ole cream of mushroom or chicken mixed with 1/2 can of white wine. Im very hesitant to try any fancy recipes because the birds are so precious and I would hate to ruin any.

Yes. Cut up into like sized chunks and use my favorite breading making sure not to overcook. Right now my go to dry breading is Craigers original or mild cajun.
Scheels carrys it and its outstanding on poultry and fish.

Recipes shared sound amazing. I am however having trouble securing all of the ingredients ie pheasants. -)
