Not gonna go back and forth. Lots of good jobs in union, lots of good out. Just throwing out options.

Either way it’s a great time to be a young person who likes to work hard with their hands for a living, lots of options.

Alright, so the masks I have available to use here at work are Jackson R10’s, which is an N95. This thing sucks trying to breathe through even without exerting myself. I can’t see wearing this damn thing all day every day. How do you guys do it??

I wear 8511s they get old but are needed. Better then a half mask. But in order to wear a respirator you need to be fit tested. Your lungs might not allow a respirator, it happens. That’s when a career change is in order

Thanks you guys. I really appreciate the feedback and the offer.

Question for ya- what is the difference between the 8511 and what I’m wearing? I see it has a valve and the website says it offers more airflow or comfort, or something like that.

    Thanks again!

8511 is much more ergonomic. The valve makes it much more comfortable for blowing out hot air and sucking in fresh cool air rather than recycling half the air you expel w each breath w the ones u r currently using

FYI…you don’t need medical insurance for a workers comp claim. File an injury report at work and get the ball moving.

You say you work with construction materials, does this include lumber, especially treated lumber? is there anything that is treated with formaldehyde there?
Treated lumber causes me to break out in hives and the formaldehyde causes shortness of breath along with affecting my vision.

Formaldehyde is used in a lot of construction materials.
