We have a group of guys heading up Sunday AM and we want to try to stream the Football games via our mobile devices. Does anyone know how good the signal is out on the lake for Sprint or Verizon? Also, what are the good spots on shore to catch the game?

Was out this weekend in the middle of URL, and my AT&T was slightly better than my buddies Verizon. Streaming Pandora worked, but it would cut out fairly often. Pretty sure any of the bars (Rogers, JR’s, West Wind etc) will be an option.

Depends how far out you are and how many others are doing the same thing. On the busy weekends the cell towers get overloaded. I’ve been out there with 3bars of 4g and it was a slow crawl I couldn’t even stream pandora.

As others said its been hit or miss on how well it works for streaming video. Usually its pretty bogged down with the shear number of people up there on some weekends. If you have a digital antenna you would have a chance getting it on your TV. Watched a few playoff games up there in the past, however that can be hit or miss as well. Had a bunch of channels in one spot and moved maybe half a mile and then could only get the public TV channels.

I was up there this weekend and have Verizon. I was not able to stream any data, I only ran a 3G signal. Another guy had AT&T and had 4G, another guy had Sprint and had no service at all. Best luck will be AT&T is what I found.

For the record, signal strength is horrible. We are four miles out from Roger’s and it is very hit or miss to stream anything. Long website load times and hard to even get sports updates to refresh. Verizon doing better than Sprint.
