I’m looking to replace my old Heco that I’ve had since the 70s. It seems that all the new flip shelters have gray interiors except the Kenai Pro Stealth. Aren’t they kind of bright inside for being able to see fish? Any suggestions? I’m looking for a 2-man so I can take the grandkids.
    Thanks I’m advance!

The old Snoboat shelters were the perfect shelter for sight fishing.Especially the ones that had black canvas. You could kneel on the sled part and never touch the ice. They made 3 different sizes, but have been discontinued for over 20 years.I have one that I use for 1st ice,and don’t spook fish with it.

If you can find an old Frabill Hideout, that would also work good for your use.

I am guessing you are looking for a pop up or clam house instead of a wheelhouse? Check out the spearing shack. There are many different options and you don’t always have to make a big hole.

Yes, a flip style, not a pop-up. After doing some more checking, it looks like it’s mainly the insulated versions that are gray inside. I thought maybe there would be some good sales starting to show up, but there doesn’t seem to be much in stock anywhere right now.

Stopped by Cabela’s in Owatonna today and they’ve already changed over all the ice fishing displays to boats-n-stuff.

Check out Canvas Plus. Made the original otter. They have uninsulated black canvas and insulated white on the inside. But I’d bet if you gave them a call they’d sew one up with insulated black on the inside.
