It is at the headwaters of my favorite brook trout stream. I was shown the giant spring in the summer of 1962 by my dad. He did not know the tale of the cement spillway but he ventured to guess it was made to grind wheat or corn.

Beautiful picture Len. I love those quaint little spots that get stumbled upon while out in the woods for whatever reason. As kids a friend and I came across a very old home-site buried in heavy woods. The wood was long rotted away but the stone foundation hung in there. an old well sat nearby that had a spring coming out of it and that was the clearest, cleanest tasting water I think I have ever tasted. Long gone to development now, that place still comes to mind crystal clear when I look at this picture. Thanks for the memories.
