I’m selling my Lund 1700 Angler and have ordered a 2018 Lund Impact. The Angler has a second gen. Terova I-pilot on it. Am trying to decide if I should keep it or buy a new Terova with I-Link. I do have a 800 series Hummin Bird compatible with link and plan to buy a new Helix as well. Do any of you use and like the Link feature? Especially interested in views of river fishermen.

I love my link! Its nice being able to set a waypoint by a wing dam and the boat drives there. Then you can use anchor mode.

If your old unit is the 101, you can keep it and upgrade the head unit if you want. If it is not the 101, sell it and get the 101. I wish I would have gone with a stronger motor when I bought the one I have. The i-link is great. It like having a guide that know every turn of each depth change and follows it at the exact speed you want no matter how the wind changes. It was a game changer when I took my little boy out trolling.

Battery life on the link remote is about 8 hours. So make sure you have a way to charge it in the boat.

The big difference to me is the improved spot lock compared to the old ipilots. I made the upgrade to an ulterra with ipilot link earlier this year and can’t say enough about how great the new spot lock is (and I love the ulterra self deploy feature as well).

Edit: I just re-read your post and it sounds like you’re getting a new spot lock model either way. Enjoy the new boat!
