I recall when I bought my 20 gauge, the guy at Gander made some comment about how the only sell a couple of 20s per year and usually just the base model. He was surprised they ever ordered a Gold Mallard for store stock. $795 was a good deal, but I think the original price on it was $899. Which seems absolutely cheap by today’s prices!
I’ve seen them come up on auction sites, but both the silver and gold versions are rare in 20 ga.
My 20 has a very tight full choke pattern, in fact it’s more like Super Full. With premium plated loads, it absolutely dumps roosters with tremendous authority.
And man, I’ll tell you, switching over to a double will remind you instantly of how much recoil that Beretta action sucks up.
