Think of all the handguns it includes.

Isn’t that how it is in the states that ban them already? And did the 94 awb include handgun mags?

I was in Fleet and Cabelas within the last week and there are no empty shelves or signs of panic buying. Plenty of .22 ammo, .223 ammo, and magazines still on shelves.

I think the Panic Chicken buyers from 5-6 years ago have figured out that a basement full of .22 ammo doesn’t really turn into a basement full of gold.

A basement full of ammo is not for making money. It is for when the government makes buying more than 12 rounds at a time illegal.

Do you really only have enough ammo to last a hunting season? Do you really want to have to register what ammo you are purchasing if such a law passes?

I’m scratching my head on your comment.

Keep in mind the Senate is only 34-33, giving majority to the GOP. The house is 77-57, GOP. It wouldn’t take much in the senate for it to go through, unlike the house…The committee this was referred to is 6-3, GOP. I don’t see it making it past the committee.

The “justification” that all the .22 RF hoarders were giving during the last panic was that somehow .22 rimfire was going to turn into some SHTF alternative currency that would be highly valued for barter or trade or they could just resell and make huge profits at an assumed inflated price. Never happened.

If the government makes buying more than 12 rounds illegal and it has to be registered, what are the chances that they would NOT also make you register ammmo already in possession? If the goal is to know who has what ammo and how much, do you think there is any chance at all that gun grabbing legislators won’t think of this little angle.

All of these gun grabbing laws are not original ideas. They are being modeled on laws already in place in Europe, Canada and other places. In the UK, for example, you must have a firearms license to buy ammo, you can only buy ammo for firearms on your license, every round is registered, and you must file an “in possession” inventory report every year when you renew your license. All firearms license holders may be searched by the police at any time and for any reason. If you are found to have unreported ammo in possession, you will be in major, major trouble.

So you think they’ve really overlooked this “in possession” angle? No way.

All the ammo stuff is foil hat imo. If they want to stop ammo or make it too spendy they can choke production.

Mag round # bans are already a thing in many states. I grew up with them in NY – dunno if that was how it was elsewhere cause I didnt follow it. At some point we were able to buy the clear 10/22 50rd mags that lasted 3-4 times before breaking.

Offtopic, but the reply mentioned JoeBobOutfitters. I wouldn’t buy anything from JoeBobOutfitters, they do not back their products. Too many other choices to take a risk.
