    Hey guys!
I just wanted to hear some others opinions on if we are close to being in another run on ammunition and ARs like back in 2013? I couldnt imagine .22lr being impossible to find again since it is recently back on shelves at higher prices.
    Thanks in advance! waytogo

It’s hard to predict for sure, but I think many of the .22 hoarders eventually realized how stupid it was to be hoarding something that isn’t going to be banned and will be worth less than you paid for it as soon as production catches up.

Also, a lot of the discussion I’ve seen about loading up on cheap ARs, lowers, 30 round mags, etc is missing one critical point. If a person were to buy a shedload of this stuff and it was to become illegal (or even highly restricted), they won’t be able to sell them easily and if they chose to try, or it may or may not be possible or easy, or it could be outright illegal.

There are no talks about ammo bans or even restrictions, so I don’t see any reason to go chicken little and go off the deep end. My prediction is we’re going to see a 21 YO age restriction on buying anything semi-auto, there will be new reporting requirements to the background check system, and there’s going to be a whole lot of buttskies whipped at the FBI and in FL where a whole lot of people did jack schmidt with all the warning signs that were reported.

I’d give it a 30% chance of an outright ban on 30 round mags, but I can’t see this going half way. Either there will be an outright ban with a felony for any violation or no ban at all. It won’t be like the last ban where it was just on new manufacture, so IMO nobody’s going to be able to cash in on post-ban demand.

There are no talks about ammo bans or even restrictions

HF3022 was heard yesterday and states ammo sales will be tracked and kept on file. Yes, it will get shut down, but it’s being talked about…

“Subd. 4. Ammunition sales. (a) A firearms dealer shall ensure that all ammunition is
displayed behind a checkout counter where the public is not permitted and is offered for
sale only by an employee who is at least 21 years of age and not prohibited by state or
federal law from possessing a firearm. The firearms dealer shall ensure that the person
making the sale requires the buyer:
    (1) to provide photographic identification showing the buyer’s date of birth; and

    (2) to sign a written or electronic document detailing the date of the sale, the name of
the buyer, and the amount of ammunition sold.

    (b) A document described under paragraph (a), clause (2), must be retained by the
firearms dealer for at least three years and must at all reasonable times be open to inspection
by any authorized law enforcement agency.”

There’s always a chance of some sort of gun legislation being passed. I found it’s easier to fight for the rights I believe in and don’t get worked up about possibilities.

I hope the 30 round mag ban doesnt happen. you would think they would understand it wouldnt do anything with how many are out there currently.

I was in Fleet and Cabelas within the last week and there are no empty shelves or signs of panic buying. Plenty of .22 ammo, .223 ammo, and magazines still on shelves.

I think the Panic Chicken buyers from 5-6 years ago have figured out that a basement full of .22 ammo doesn’t really turn into a basement full of gold.

The current threats are not causing a panic like before. Something drastic would have to happen to create a panic. Hopefully level heads prevail and nothing changes.

Something drastic like Trump advocating gun control and saying things like: “Take the guns first, go through due process second.”?

I feel like buying another AR while I can but I dont use the ones I have enough to rationally justify. Think Ill use my head and get another Grouse gun that I actually can use.
Update-the place I buy is completely out of lowers. The panic is in full swing..

I think this might happen too. Is there any precedent for what happens if this passes, namely, are you just supposed to surrender your stuff and lose the $ in order to comply?

Sometime in the past few days budsgunshop.com added this notice:

An unexpected large increase in demand has caused delays throughout our supply chain. Please expect longer than normal processing and shipping times on all orders. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I’d say it panic buying isn’t already in full swing it’s getting close.

In addition to saying take guns first Trump also just said this about Xi Jinping:

“He’s now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great,” Trump said. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot some day.”

    So… there’s that

Shotgun News was full of 20 round AR mags during the Clinton Ban.

Ammo is readily available but AR parts are not. Super hard to find complete lowers right now. Most out of stock. Absolutely there is some hysteria going on.

Classic Firearms has a couple stripped and many complete lowers in stock, about 50/50 polymer to AL.

PSA has stock of both AR-10 and AR-15 lowers as of this morning…as does Classic Firearms, Primary Arms, Joebob Outfitters, Brownells and JSE Surplus.

Selection is not 100% right now, but they’re literally everywhere still…There is no shortage right now…If you think this is bad, go back to 2012-13…or go back to September 13, 1994… coffee

My PSA lower is on the way. Now I just need to decide what to put on top. Might just make a garage/trunk/burial gun out out of it. Either no or cheap optics. Maybe just iron. We’ll see.

Sounds like you need a 7.5″ with a PSB and irons. They’re a blast. Literally.

    A felony? That’ll pass…

Remember, you get three darts a round. Expect one more try this session…and I would assume that one will hit the drywall too…but maybe not.

I dont understand why they make them so crazy – it’s like they want to fail. Under this people who want to remain law abiding would have to:

    -Register each mag
-file paperwork and pay “fees” EVERY year
-allow warrantless searches of their home

This bill is worse than a outright ban. I’m not much of a slippery slope guy – I think changes could be made, but c’mon.

    1) I would estimate that this bill has nearly a 0% chance of passing.

    2) If it did pass, it would make felons out of one heck of a lot of good law-abiding people.

It sure would! Think of all the handguns it includes.
