Short and oh so sweet LOTW report

    On my way home from LOTW and a two night stay at Sunset Lodge in the NW Angle and the bite up in the islands is on FIRE !!

    #4 Rippn Raps in UV colors and VMC rattle spoons tipped with a minnow head was the ticket !!

    We had 100 fish days and they averaged 18″ !!! 25% of our fish were in that 24 to 26 inch range..It was absolutely amazing !! I have never had a walleye ice outing like this before !!

    For those who are heading up to the Angle, your in for a treat !! And if your looking for a great place to stay definitely check out Sunset Lodge !!

    Sounds like a great time!
    Did both baits call in fish equally or was one more of a closer?

    Nope..
    We drove around the west side of the lake and took the plowed road right to Sunset Lodge

    That #4 Rippn Rap was the highlight of the trip for me !! It was crushed by 80% of the fish we caught !!!

    Sounds like great trip Dave. Did you hunt down your own spots or were there several others around. Guide? toast

    Nice report! Must’ve been a good time. Never have fished up on LOTW during hard water season. Have in summer but not winter. Something I will have to take the time to do when I get the opportunity to do it.

    Did you get a chance to go east a little ways into Deepwater or Tug Bay for crappies? Did you hear anything about that? That’s on my bucket list.

    We did not get to tap into those crappies…just wasn’t enough time.
    Spencer out of Sunset was taking people over there and he had some great reports of that bite !!
