    Hi all,
The FW and I are looking to go some place warm this winter. I mentioned the Baja Peninsula as we’ve been to the Caribbean side too many times to count. She told me I’d better check out the fishing opportunities. (well, isn’t that nice of her!? bless her heart…)
I’m really interested in surf fishing as the blue water charter trips are well outside my budget.
Have any of you fished in Cabo? Boat or shore?
    Taken gear with you?
    License requirements?
    Guide recommendations?
    Hotel recommendations?

Any suggestions and information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Don

Early morning, follow the birds. I took yozuri silver minnows and silver spoons when I went with pretty good success. U don’t need a licence off shore, however if u go in a boat one is required.

Try east cape resorts. This is a tough time of year to fish since the water is cold (relatively speaking) but I caught fish from shore with gulp shrimp. Boats out of East cape are only $275 a day and you could get into some tuna or marlin. I caught some 30# tuna in February of last year.

East cape is in a small town called Los barilles on the sea of Cortez side. About 90 minutes from the airport. Very quiet place so I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for night life. PM me if you want more details.

yep, off shore no license required
i took my traveling fishing gear with me. which is a few rods and bare basic essentials and handful of lures
i fished right off the beach of my resort and caught a variety of species. jacks, trevaly, blues… nothing big tho but was sure fun and i used the fish for bartering/tips with resort staff. they loved the fresh fish and even cooked some up for us

    have fun and take pics

    slab – hunter,
When you get down there you will be able to find a guy to take you out for a decent price. Remember its Mexico. Wheel and Deal!
When you establish a price, make sure you tell them “hey that includes license and bait also”
    World class fishing!!!!!!
