If you’ve ever spent time organizing your tackle box you know it’s nearly impossible to do so and resist the urge to go fishing! So the other weekend I loaded up a backpack of tackle, a sammich, and water and roamed the shores of some local ponds. Fishing was slow, but I saw lots of birds, dragonflies, a painted turtle, and a huge snapping turtle who seemed surprised to see me sitting so close to shore! shock

I’m looking for some better shore fishing spots in the SE Metro – Eagan, IGH, WSP, Burnsville, Hastings, etc. – if you guys are willing to share any locations to try! Feel free to PM or text and secret spots and I’ll pinky swear to keep the coordinates safe! waytogo

What do you mean slow, looks like you slayed em! Sorry I have nothing for you down that way. I really can’t think of the last time I fished from shore. Kinda sounds relaxing I guess.

Couple issues here…first, water? You can’t catch fish drinking water if you know what I mean.

Second…you know a bunch of river rats. Tons of spots on the river. I used to shore fish upper P2 and I can give you a few good spots if you want to PM me. You said south but I didn’t shore fish much that way. Should be a few folks here that know shore spots on lower P2 and P3 by Hastings and Prescott.

Shore fishing is quite relaxing! I get a good walk, see different critters, catch a few fish. I’ve not navigated a boat solo before so shore fishing is a good way to stil get out for a little bit. mrgreen
