Does anyone know the availability of shiners this year? Plentyful?

Any specific bait shops you guys are seeing them? I’ll be traveling from twin cities to Leech.

    Thanks in advance.

Fletcher’s Bait in Sauk Centre has Golden and Silver Shiners. Kind of out of your way but they have Shiners

I’m pretty sure Harris has them if you go north up 35

Full stringer bait and tackle in longville always has good bait when I’m in there. Worth a call. About 12min south of leechs SE corner. Certainly on the way to the fed dam where I would he heading!

I just called our fav bait shop by Winni and they are not yet sure if shiners will be available this weekend. I sure hope so.

Update from another source. Highly unlikely.

Hoping to check the shiner creek today. So far I’ve barely been getting enough to supply my three person group. With the weather forecast being what it is up here I wouldn’t count on much…I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that with the sun today they’re moving in.

Just to clarify what breed of “shiners” are we all talking about? Cause there are guys around here that wouldn’t be caught dead with anything but a spottail on there jig. And so far they are hard to come by for us self seiners.

Preferably the spottails, but I’ve had great success with golden shiners as well. I’m sure bait shops will be trying their best to get some.

Thanks for all of your help/feedback. Tight lines!
