I can’t get my scope on my new Ruger 10/22 to adjust to the point of impact. 6 inches to high as a matter of fact. I’ve double checked the rings and picatinny rail are mounted properly.

Ever had to shim a scope/rail?

You’re sure something isn’t cockeyed with your mounting setup somwhere? Something that didn’t seat properly before tightening it down, etc?

Pics would be helpful. What Rings and mounts are you using?

Then again, a box stock 10/22 may only be capeable of minute of pie plate accuracy. Sorry, I had to say it.

I’m going to tear it all apart again. I’ll take some pics then. I’m using Burris Tactical rings(so not cheapO’s). Weaver rail. Scope is the cheapest part, BSA sweet 22. Pulled this off my old Marlin that ran find.

Did you return the scope to the center setting before mounting it?

Very difficult to say what might be going on there. If something got hung up during mounting, that would be my first place to look.

Check the picatiny to make sure it is not an moa rail. I did get Leopold mounts one time that were boxed with 2 different mounts. Is the receiver on your Ruger flat some take a different mount for the front and back.

Well, you can always cut out small pieces from an aluminum can.

I had a Simmons scope that we couldn’t get close to a barn door while standing inside. Used the Burris Signature Rings with the inserts and it took care of the majority of the problem. As stated above, i would thoroughly go over it again to make sure something else isn’t off first
