My brother-in-law, nephew, and I went out to his land in Buffalo Co on Saturday. We walked for 3 hours and never found a shed. I did see some tracks from someone sneaking on, but still was shocked to come out empty handed.
Sunday I went to my Grandpa’s farm in Houston Co. MN. 15 Minutes in I spotted a dandy single at the edge of a pasture. The match wasn’t in sight, so I started to grid. After 30 minutes and with only 2 quick passes left, I found the other side on a deer trail. I walked for another 3 hours with nothing to show, but I didn’t really mind…I had found the biggest matched set of my life.
I put the tape to them when I got home, but they didn’t fair well as far as ‘inches’ are concerned as both were a hair under 60″ (Short brow tines and short main beams). But the tine length (just under 11″ G2’s) and mass made up for it in my book.
