You can try an air compressor, I have used this in a bind and it has worked. The best way is to run lots of clean water through the motor with a hose and the ear muffs. You could also submerge the lower unit in a tub full of water. If you have not at least changed the impeller in a few years, you might just think about doing that. I do mine every couple years. Dry rot will eat up impellers.
