I’m wondering how many of you are done going on purpose to find sheds? I won’t have much more time before it greens up I really would like to get out one last time though!

Went out for a long walk yesterday and didn’t come up with anything , I’m thinking I have about 2 weeks left in me then it’s Turkey season so I don’t like walking around when guys are trying to hunt

I’m about done…I’ll keep looking while out searching for morels and planting trees this spring, but as far as specifically looking for sheds I’m calling it a year. The ticks are thick, and my spots have been pretty well combed over.

I will still be going on and off until the morels pop, which could almost be today with the hot weather… I still need two more to hit twenty for the year, but I usually find a few while fixing fences so I’m not too worried yet.

I’m going out for one last time on Sat. Dale you up for tagging along? Let me know. This has been a very tough shedding season for me this year.

It is easy to give up this time of year… we have found most of the easy ones. my last find was on monday while discing a border for a controlled burn in my crp. It seems that once i stop looking I find several more when i am hinge cutting or building deer beds. They are still out there just hard to find!

I just talked to a buddy in SD last night. They have a monster 3.5 year old that is still holding his head gear as of last weekend.

What causes this? Tough winter, poor nutrition? Stress?

they say the harder the winter the early the drop. we had a pretty easy winter here. i think that why they are carry them this late. just my guess.
