Plucked my first matched set ever. And how it happened was pretty cool.
It was one of those days where things just weren’t going right. I was actually on my way back to the truck but still looking as I followed some trails and quickly weaved through bedding areas. Then!!! as it seems to happen for all of us,, there it was. As you can see from the pics it almost looks like sawed off little trees sticking out of the snow. I really thought I had something unique. It almost looked like something that could be non-typical. After taking some ATL pics and Calling Coppertop to tell him the big news, I pulled out what I thought was a nice 5 point side. TO my surprise everything just fell apart. My first thought was that the rodents completely chewed off some of the tines. THEN, realized that I had a matched set that was laying one on top of the other.. I’m glad I snapped a second ATL pic after I pulled out the left side. I had to walk right on top of this thing and sometimes that’s how it works.
The rodents got to them pretty good. One of the brows copletely gone and all but the main beams and one tine nibbled on. But I couldn’t be happier! My shed ratio went from ZERO for 14 hours to 1:7 in a hurry.
STILL VERY pumped Looking forward to the next time I can get out there.
