My brother in-law and I were grid searching a 20 acre standing bean field this weekend where I figured there had to be something. After walking nearly the whole thing with nothing, my brother in-law yelled and took off running and this was at the end!! First set I have seen that close.

Beautiful looking set. Gotta love the mad dash to just get them in your hands.

Nice find !!! Gridding sure worked…. it wouldn’t have been as exciting to find em in the first 50 yards…

    I agree WalleyeBuster – he’s a brute!

Muskie50 – do you know how hold he is? Looking at the picture, I’m guessing maybe 4.5.

Unfortunately this is not my land and it is the first time I was on it, so I won’t get a chance to hunt him this fall. Originally when we found it we figured 3.5, but now looking at his picture I would say at least 4.5. I am hoping that they get pics of him this summer and fall. Hopefully a harvest pic.

To quote a skank I’d leave in the field for the the manure spreader to cover “That’s hot.”
