I’ll start off the new SHED ANTLER FORUM with a good set and story to go with it – This 11pt has been runnin’ around all fall in the city of Hudson. He had a few main bedding areas that were close to the street and alot of people had seen him and taken pictures of him too. I would usually drive by on my way to lunch and try to get a look at him, and I did most of Jan until the 29th he wasnt in the normal area…so I drove back to work on the other side of the wooded lot that he beds in and there LAYING ON THE SNOWBANK ONLY TWO FEET FROM THE CURB was his right antler . I almost went off the road as I swerved into the other lane next to the curb to get it(as if it was going to get away ). It was like -10 temp that day and I was dressed up with shirt and tie for an appt. that I had after lunch so I couldnt look for the other side. The next morning I ask the owner of the closest house if I could look for the other side and ended up finding that behind his garage after about 45 long minutes. Im a diehard shed hunter and I cant tell you how nice it is to stumble onto a set like that!! He would gross about 155″ with an 17″ spread. IDO member and friend Pete Blomquist lives in Hudson too and he gave me a bunch of pictures and video of the this deer that he had taken over the past few months.

Mark, That is truly one of a kind shed story. I’m guessing alot of people were on the lookout for his sheds. I always look in the ditches on good trail/fence crossing hoping to see a shed from the road(never happened yet) Also to find the other is a feat in itself. Congrats on the unbelievable find!!

yeah…..you could say that . Im lucky he didnt get pushed out of there by other shed hunters. If I didnt shed hunt so much I would say some other guys got cheated out of these. I have shed hunted in these spots in the city for years but they get hit pretty hard these days. About 10 years ago I did find one in the city park near this spot while driving though in my truck. It was laying in the lawn under a cedar tree…took me two month to find its match on the other side of the highway in a strip of cedars by the post office(now office buildings)
